I thought about picking this up. Didn't know if I'd like it or not. Sounds like it would be perfect for my nephew.

I hear ya there. I'm a bit of a stickler for reviews so I pretty much stay clear of junk. My disappointments tend to be when my expectations are too high. Bioshock and Fallout 3 are two of my favorite games but fortunately I tempered my expectations for Bioshock 2 and New Vegas since they where dev'd by different teams, and in the end, though I wasn't blown away, I wasn't terribly dissapointed either.

yep, crackdown. Maybe not the worst but it couldn't have been far off. Lost planet, force unleashed, and alpha protocol were pretty big letdowns.

yes, very impressive DLC at a surprisingly cheap price. I found some of the repetitive action less compelling then other zombie games but still, you gotta respect Rockstar's production values at work here.

Definitely a possibility. There is a lot of content here to spite scaling back a tad in a few areas. Still a "reason" isn't an excuse and regardless of the explanation the amount of flaws is just inexcusable.

I can get past the cosmetic issues and minor stuff but even the lock-ups ( a once and a while issue on Fallout 3) happen far too often. How many games do you know that lock up on a regular basis? (I'd say it averages once every 3-4 hrs or so)

I was playing last night and had to stop trying to trade with a certain merchant because every time I tried to close out it froze up. Every. Single. Time. I tried to avoid it different ways but three times in a row it froze, whenever I tried to exit the trade.

Sigh...guess what I'll be playing tonight though.

Yeah the controller bugs me, not so much because of the battery so much as the fact that the recharge cable is like 3ft long (unless they wised up and changed it) which is about 1ft shorter than anyone will ever sit to their huge tv's. Seriously was this a budget thing? Where they trying to save money on cord? It's annoying becuase it's just long enough that if I lean forward on my couch uncomfortably I can play.

Good, at least you didn't feel like you wasted your money.

I don't think any of them were outright bad, except for Anchorage (which I still grudgingly gave 3 stars just for the Gauss rifle and Stealth armor). That one did just flat out annoy me because I felt it's stripped down shooter gameplay constantly frustrated my attempts to play it. It seemed very counter productive and contrary to everything Fallout 3 was.

Overall though they were mostly fun and I respect Bathesda for how well they supported the game with full fledged DLC campaigns.

This sounds like exactly what happened with some of the Fallout 3 DLC. Pity

I agree with you when you say Gamestop is testing the waters and I think that's what annoys me most. Gamestop is such a big chain and therefore such a big factor in generating revenue for studios that companies can't blackball them. They know they can get away with it. They might be reprimanded but big deal.

I think Gamestop did what it did because MW2 was such a major release they wanted to score points with fans by launching early. I'm sure they knew they would take some heat but it's not much more than a slap on the wrist and worth it to them.
