I work in a major grocery store and see expensive deli sandwiches, crab, steak, high end items going out the door and "paid" for with Oregon trail food stamp cards......The reason they buy this stuff is because it is ALLOWED by the government. If it has a nutrition label on it, it is eligible. If it has a supplemental label on it, it is not allowed. People buy Red Bull and garbage crap junk food all the time because it has "nutrition labels" on it. What is allowed for purchase needs to be changed. No junk food, no candy, no chips, no gum, no Red Bull, no expensive deli sandwiches. Go buy a loaf of bread and the cheese and meats needed. A person can make multiple sandwiches at home for what one ready to eat one costs. I am sick of paying for these losers. Foods stamps are needed for many, but many ride the coat tails of the system.......Cut them off.

I also thought of Harry Truman when the mountain blew. I lived in Newport, and the blast was loud enough to wake me up that morning. We had ash a couple of times, but nothing like you had.
