How does denying others rights affect your life? Why is it that you would look someone in the face and say that they do not deserve the same rights as you? And don't give me the "they have the rights to marry someone of the opposite sex" argument, as it holds no water. Did you marry for love, or did you marry for money, benefits or some other dumb reason? I am willing to bet that you married for love so please imagine (I know this is some stretch) that you were not able to marry that person for any number of reasons and how angry you would be if the majority of the state were allowed to vote on whether your union was valid. Tell me how you would feel?

In some instances, yes. However, there are points in our history in which the majority vote is not always correct (separate but equal comes to mind and most recently the overturning of Prop. 8 in California.) Please know that when a majority is allowed to vote on the rights of a minority it may not always be in the best interest of the country or the people. The LGBT community are made of mostly natural born american citizens and how the majority would want to turn them into second class citizens is beyond me. Civil Unions and Domestic partnerships are separate but equal, nothing less.

Thank you Governor Gregoire! Your leadership is greatly appreciated to say the least. For those who would want to bring an initiative or referendum, please consider this: When you decide to marry someone of either the same or opposite sex, would you like the rest of Washington to put your union under a microscope and be able to vote on it? How would that make you feel? Would it make you feel scrutinized? Hated? Despised even? Would you be able to take it? How would you react? Please think before you sign your name to something that will affect others because of your decision. Chances are you have met or have known a gay person in the past and (gasp) even liked them. Would you deny them equal protection under the law because you are so fearful of who they are, or are you willing to let live someone else's love for another human being(I am talking about one human being to one other human being, not multiple, animal or inanimate object or other variation thereof.) If you disagree I would love a full answer with fact not speculation or religious content as this has nothing to do with religion as ESSB 6239 has expressly stated is not a part of this issue at all. Thank you to the legislature and our courageous Governor Christine Gregoire for standing up for equal rights!

BTW please go to an English class to learn grammar and punctuation to make your point, it is much easier to take your point into consideration when you use proper English and grammar skills to make your case than when I have to use a Trailer park dictionary to decipher your language.
