For centuries, the history of occidental politics always been the struggle between clerics and soldiers, between fundamentals and applications, between thinkers and doers. Canadians have clearly chosen the latter in every case, they will have to live with it.

Way to go lad!

Yes, he might do some mistakes because of his age. But since we send hundreds of volunteer teenagers at war in Afghanistan and since many have complained (myself included) that some section of the youth are apathetic towards politics, I think we should leave him alone and engage with in terms of ideas, not with any kind of paternalism.

For me every election is a plebiscite on the incumbent: Harper did not convinced me that he is a Stateman able to gather diversity into one purpouse, and in an openly manner.

So who to replace him? I still remember Liberals try to buy my loyalty to Canada. The Bloc is none quantity anymore, they asking us to choose and discriminate between two identities I could definitly live with. To give a default vote to a smiley guy is very tempting but are their numbers add up.

Who's ready to govern in the opposition benches then: Recent additions by the libs, the leader and its deputy especially, have proven they are ready to govern. They can't do worst really. This is why my vote would go to a liberal candidate.

Canadians should not make the mistake to think that a majority of Quebecers would support hardline policies like those. This is exactly why Pauline Marois tries to placate them. Most Quebecers are profoundly attached to liberty and democracy, as much as Canadians are.

I am sure we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Photographic identification is a good policy to reduce risks of fraud and I support this as an absolute requirement.
On the other hand, I am sure there is some way to certify the very small amount of people who cannot have a photo id for a genuine reason (veil or mail).

This is another file where pols put forward a legislation more to get votes than anything.

Please James, I am sure that you're more aware of reality than that.

Many bands from Montreal, singing both in English and in French, including Arcade Fire, Malajube, The Wolves, Karkwa, Simple Plan, have delighted many music fans from different background in Quebec in the last decade.

Ce Montréal bi-culturel est incroyable. Bravo Fire. Le Québec est fier de vous!

Harper reported offer reminds me the one presented by J. Parizeau in 1995 to the Nordiques and the other by L. Bouchard to the Expos in 1998. "Then-"cashstrapped premiers have offered money already allowed in other programs (tourism promotioin, if I remember well).
