Ticket the cyclist for riding their bike down the coast, because you think it SHOULDN'T be a route? You are full of it. Unbelievable. Liar. Hypocrite.
For riding my bike legally on a legal bike route?!?!?! You are not worth my time anymore. I will not reply anymore because I realize I'm not having a real discussion with an intelligent person.
So you are a big hypocrite! Your argument is that cyclists don't follow laws. YOU PROUDLY ADMIT THAT YOU DON'T FOLLOW LAWS!!! Dude. Waste of skin and space. Get off the planet!!!!
When I see you do what you do, I'll report you. I doubt you'd stay there. You'd just drive off. I'll remember your plate though.
The offense described in this section, unsafe passing of a person operating a bicycle, is a Class B traffic violation.
[2007 c.794 §2]
YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE LAWS!
811.065 Unsafe passing of person operating bicycle; penalty. (1) A driver of a motor vehicle commits the offense of
unsafe passing of a person operating a bicycle if the driver violates any of the following requirements:
(a) The driver of a motor vehicle may only pass a person operating a bicycle by driving to the left of the bicycle at a
safe distance and returning to the lane of travel once the motor vehicle is safely clear of the overtaken bicycle. For the
purposes of this paragraph, a “safe distance” means a distance that is sufficient to prevent contact with the person operating
the bicycle if the person were to fall into the driver’s lane of traffic.
Hwy 101 is A BIKE ROUTE. Do you NOT look at SIGNS???
Cars are allowed on the cemetery path. It's a road. Too many people misunderstand news. It's a private road through a cemetery. I agree that they can't complain about speed bumps. But too many people read that story and thought cyclists were somehow riding through a cemetery on graves. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN EVER. I have been through there many times and hardly ever came across other cyclists. When I did, they were riding on the road quietly. If you passed me giving me 3 inches of clearance and you are proud of it, then you are just plain mean and don't understand the laws. It is a bike route. You are to give cyclists a safe distance when you pass. I follow rules. I drive a car too. I call out cyclists when they break rules, but I do it to their face. I do not tell on them by calling the police.
Thank you for admitting that not all that ride a bike are egomaniacs. My bike is made of steel. It was built to last with a lot of care and craftsmanship. It cost $1,500 dollars. I love it and have traveled down the Oregon Coast on it. It's worth every dollar and I hope to pass it down to my children someday. It will last for many years to come.
I would hope that a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL would not be so keen on hoping to run over a human. That's what it has to do with our discussion.
Hey DB, read my reply. OK, PAY ATTENTION! I specifically say that I do own a car and that I do pay taxes. I also say that 95% of bike commuters own cars and pay taxes. Look it up. Now, I was paying attention to what you wrote. First of all, where was I bitter? You are a very bitter person, I can see, but where in my first post was I bitter? I enjoy riding my bike downtown. I'm happy about it! I'm glad you're in great shape! Do you seriously think that riding a bike excludes you from paying any taxes? Everyone pays taxes. Only two things sure in life! Have a good one. Oh yeah, I can afford a car. It's not fancy but I paid $10,000 for it used. I paid $1,500 for my bicycle. Did you know that many people who ride bikes in Portland pay that much for a bike? So... people on bikes can pay for cars. Many of them have cars and nice jobs. If you have a job and own a house, you pay taxes. Did you know that?
So, if he doesn't want to go through the debates again, why would he be thinking "I so wish people would ask me to run for Prez"?
So everyone who rides a bike is an egomaniac? Cheap metal? Have you gone to a bike shop? Are you really a medical student? Because you are kinda dumb.
