Yeah, it's nearly as expensive as the Bay Area now. When I first started going up there in March 2011 that was definitely not the case. You could get a cute bungalow in a great neighborhood for well under $500,000 - now it seems like that's the starting price for a good neighborhood.

Not snippy at all. And it's not something I haven't told myself 1000 times. Fridays are just hard because it's the day their cleaners also come and for three hours, every week, it sounds like they are going through demolition. And today I had the windows open because it's warm and there was constant noise and screaming from people. I work from home so that type of distraction is really hard.

It is DEFINITELY a production. This year we figured out a few ways to be more efficient with our time, and next year we'll be able to cut down probably 1-2 hours.

I don't know my MIL's recipe off the top of my head, only in general. It's actually evolved from the recipe that her family used many years ago to add in things like dried cherries and raisins. I looked online and here are two websites with recipes that are pretty spot on and don't require making nearly 700.

Hi Debbie - Thanks for stopping by. Always glad to have a blog visitor from the places we write about. That's really interesting about Culross being used as a filming location for Outlander. I read most of the books (stopped when they got really bad) and am definitely looking forward to watching the show when it premiers next year.

And now Alan knows how to make the dough so we can continue to make them even when we move away!

I have two friends from my first job in San Francisco that I still see - every quarter we get together for dinner with an event we called Girls Gone Mild. The funny thing is, this is not the two ladies who I thought I would have created lasting bonds with way back when because while we got along incredibly well, we weren't extremely close at work. Funny how that works out. It's been years since we've worked together and we have what I'd definitely call a great, lasting friendship.
