If you look closely at the Gospels you will see that Jesus likens himself to the flood in Noah's day. The flood came and took them all away, the evil ones, that is. Jesus warns us to watch that we may not be overtaken and surprised by the flood (if you will).
If you look at the story of the wheat and the tares, it is the tares that are plucked out and burned and the wheat is left.
If you also look at the wheat and the chaff, it is the chaff that is blown away and the wheat is left.
It seems to me that it is those that are not watching that are taken away as in Noah's day.
That's why we need to be watching!! Two men in the field, one will be taken and the other left. If one was taken, its because he was not watching. Again Jesus comes as a flood and those not watching know not the hour that the Master will arrive.
In Mar 13:35 Jesus says, Then you watch, for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or early;
Mar 13:36 lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.
Mar 13:37 And what I say to you, I say to all. Watch.
Those in Noah's day were taken away because they were not watching.
If you look at the book of Luke Jesus says, I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
Luk 17:35 Two shall be grinding together, one will be taken, and the other left.
Luk 17:36 Two shall be in the field, one will be taken, and the other left.
Luk 17:37 And they answered and said to Him, Where, Lord? And He said to them, Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
The Apostles want to know where they will be taken. It sounds like a picture of Armageddon where the birds gather to feast.
Rev 19:17 And I saw one angel standing in the sun. And he cried with a great voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come and gather together to the supper of the great God,
Rev 19:18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of commanders, and the flesh of strong ones, and the flesh of horses, and those sitting on them, and the flesh of all, both free and slave, both small and great.
I just wonder if the rapture is a miss teaching. because I've always heard the opposite, the one taken is a picture of the rapture!! I'm not so sure.......
