I don't think the world is going to end in a fiery ball of destruction because a few gay people can get married, Greg. Maybe you should shine that pious light on some real problems like world hunger or homelessness instead of telling people what they can and can't do.
We're number 12! As much as I complain about my home state, I couldn't be more proud to be Minnesotan right now. And no, non-religious businesses shouldn't be able to deny same-sex couples. A church, understandable. A florist? Absolutely not.
You should respect all holidays, Todd. Just because you don't observe it, doesn't make it less important to the people who do.
You can't even compare rape to punching someone in the face! They aren't even remotely close to being in the same ball park.
AIDS funding is important for lots of reasons. We can just let people die because they did something a handful of people don't like. What you're saying is just cold-hearted and ignorant. That's like saying we should cut cancer funding because some people smoke. Or that we should abandon rehabilitation programs for drug addicts because it's their fault they're addicted in the first place.
Please tell me you're kidding.
It's really sad that all you see when you look at this book is the Left "forcing" homosexuality on kids. If you'd actually open your eyes you'd see this book is about family. It's trying to show kids that all families are different and it's not just a mom, dad, and kids that make one. Families are about how the people in them treat and care for each other. That's the real message here. And I think that is a great message to send to children.
It's not like you would open the book and find graphic images of people having sex. By you opposing this book you are just doing the same thing you claim the Left to be doing. Bullying people into following your beliefs. No one is saying you or your kids have to read it, Todd. But there are people out there who will and it's their RIGHT to have the literature available to them.
Wow, Emcee. You need to relax a bit. It doesn't matter if this guy is gay or not. It's all about whether or not he gets the job done. Religion has absolutely no place in this discussion what-so-ever. It's really time this country stopped being concerned with "who believes what" and starts concerning itself with fixing problems that affect us all.
It's a book, Todd. And I think it's great that people are taking a stand against the library for wanting to throw it out. Why can't kids who have same-sex parents have literature that represents them. YOU don't have to read it. Your KIDS don't have to read it. You're doing just as much harm by forcing a Christian belief system on people. But because it's YOUR view point, it must be right. It makes my head hurt just thinking about how selfish and intolerant people have become. It's sad really. I don't even feel anger anymore, just pity.
How about compromise? I'm pretty sure that's what grown men and women are supposed to do to get a job done. Or did everyone suddenly forget that lesson? I don't care if you are democrat, republican, conservative, or liberal. If everyone keeps acting this entitled then we are all screwed.
