that's right the catholic residents of elimgrove street were persuaded by the nice people of torrens to torch their own homes and run a gauntlet of sectarian hatred in order to escape with their lives.

That's what i love about this site we can confront lies, bigotry and sectarianism so easily and readily.
Bigots are easy meat all you have to do is be honest and seek out the truth .
Anyone from elimgrove street ,oldpark avenue and wyndham street will know where the truth lies here auchenshoglekid .

So you did not disagree with my points auchenshoglekid just my spelling.
that's right ELIMGROVE street that ran parallel to oldpark avenue and at a ninety degrees to wyndham street.
You were caught out in your warped sectarian fantasy so man up and admit you were wrong.

so I can safely assume that your information on torrens comes second-hand from your family auchenshoglekid, but guess what, I actually lived there in Elmgrove street half of which was burned to the ground by some of the good residents of torrens and was attacked on a nightly basis by rocks and other objects .
Try to bear in mind that this street was mixed and had mostly young families who had to flee for their lives.
The other half of the street was abandoned shortly thereafter after unionist paramilitaries made life hell for the remainder of the residents.
Next time you post fairy stories just remember the truth will always trump fantasy

I lived in a street adjacent to torrens auchenshoglekid which contained around fifty homes privately owned by a mixed religious owners. Half of this street was literally burnt to the ground by those nice people in torrens and over the following years there were several sectarian murders and bombings of the remaining homes .
That street has now been flattened after being abandoned by frightened catholic families and the few remaining protestant families.
In the end torrens was a unionist paramilitary hotbed and decent hardworking protestant people did not want to live there because of its unsavory reputation.
So you can shout torrens all you want but people like myself who lived there know the real story.

sinn fein are the biggest nationalist party .they want a united Ireland and want to achieve that through democratic means.
The S.D.L.P.are the second largest nationalist party and they also want a united Ireland through democratic means.
The alliance party also wants a united Ireland if it is democratically arrived at .
together 8 billion these three parties have almost fifty percent of the votes in northern Ireland and that vote is increasing at every election .
so you are quite right Gerry adams does not represent the catholic population but the catholic population vote almost exclusively for nationalist parties.
