Oh this book just sounds all kinds of bad. It's kind of weird that it ended up being a contemporary. When I saw the premise,I thought it would have more of a dystopian vibe. The characters sound kind of eh and I have no time for a long book with a so-so premise and eh characters. Oh well. Great review though.

Hmm, this is a great question. In terms of characters that have mental illness, I tend to criticize if the writing is not well done or if I felt like the author didn't do enough research on mental illness to reflect it properly. Books are subject to criticism and I don't think books with MC who have a mental illness are any different. Just because they are struggling or just because the MC is struggling doesn't mean the writing or the motivations or whatever makes sense. I don't even know if this comment makes sense. With The way I used to be, I was a rape crisis counselor and there were SO MANY women who called me saying they had just been raped, but they didn't want to press charges. Also, this is very personal, but I was sexually abused as a child by a family member and to this day, 95% of my family has no idea. And when I FINALLY told my mom, she kind of acted like nothing had happened. Not even sure if she believes me or not. There is no way I would tell anyone else in my family. So, yeah, it happens and maybe that's why I could relate 1000% to Eden's decisions.

Congratulations on your successful poser presentation! That is awesome. Sucks that you only had a short time to do it though. Good luck with everything you have to do to graduate!

I kind of had to skim past your reviews for the individual books in the series because I haven't read them yet. I have Chaos Walking on my Kindle though and I am really looking forward to reading it. Your review makes me even more excited! Great review.

Hmm,a time traveling book that doesn't have much time traveling? That doesn't sound very promising. I was really looking forward to The girl from everywhere. I like the fact that the author did a great job with the Hawaii setting, but the whole boring thing kind of puts me off. I'll probably still read it,but maybe I'll wait until there's a sale or something. Great reviews.

Oh I am so glad you loved this one!! Obviously this one caught my eye because of the whole WWII setting. And I love that it talks about something during WWII that I didn't know about. I have read so many WWII books so it's nice to see one with a different twist to it. Great review.

Yeah,I can relate to a lot of this. I used to feel like I had to finish EVERY single book that I started. Then I realized how many books I had on my TBR and that I just can't waste my time on books that are really bad. For me though,I very rarely DNF a book past 50%. I figure that if I have made it that far,I might as well go the rest of the way. Crazy,I know. Great post.

What a great post! I loved Panic. Sea of Tranquillity is one of my favorite all time books. I recently reread it and I did love it even more the second time around.

That is so great about the ideas for your blog flowing. I love when that happens. I will go through periods where I have total writer's block, but then I have periods where I get tons of ideas. Take advantage of it when you can!
