This time of year pit vipers are mating in The South, which makes them much more aggressive. Yes, potentially dangerous when cornered, threatened, or (LOL) .....accidentally stepped on!
Actually, Memphis hasn't seen flooding of this magnitude in 75 YEARS when the Mississippi River crested .7 of a foot LESS than the 48.7 feet that it crested last week! Along with an outbreak of record-setting, deadly tornadoes, The South has seen a violent Spring, which has destroyed many lives and homes.
"cotton mouse"...LOL....... An obvious typo, but funny none the less!
I would have said tampons.
Has anyone stopped to think about the monies in the' Playstation wallet' accounts???......Personally, I had $20 left in that account. Although not a lot of money; multiply just 1/4 of that number by the potentially 70 MILLION USERS victimized, and you have more than enough motive for someone to hack into Sony. I contacted Sony two days ago about my concerns. Call me a psychic, but I suspected something like this would happen, and SURE ENOUGH.....I was right! When I talked to Sony on Monday, I asked to have my money refunded, but was told that I could only do so if I closed my Playstation account. However, since the entire system is offline, my account could NOT be accessed! The kicker is that although I expressed my concern (A FULL 2 DAYS BEFORE SONY ADMITTED TO KNOWLEDGE as early as 4/17) that my sensitive, personal information may have been compromised; I WAS TOLD NOTHING!! The brain behind this was not some slacker, pimply-faced kid on a laptop in their mother's basement! NO! This was a well-planned, well-orchestrated, and WELL-FINANCED attack! And, for the small fortune spent on carrying out such a grand-scale attack, you'd better believe that the criminals intend to profit! I'm just waiting to see what's left after the proverbial smoke clears!
So true. Years ago; a close friend of mine was a K-9 officer partnered with a full-blooded German Shepherd. Being a licensed trainer, my friend not only housed his 'partner' at his own house, but also was responsible for the animal's training from day one. This particular dog was trained upon commands, and was considered a part of my friend's family. 'Off-duty' the officer's dog was gentle as a baby......even around the officer's own kids. However, 'ON-DUTY' the animal that I am referring to was ALL BUSINESS, and could EASILY 'take-down' a person within a matter of seconds. The personality and agressiveness of ANY dog rests SOLELY upon it's training. Just as children; no dog is born evil.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.......................If this were MY dog, I would have given him a TREAT!!!...................GOOD BOY!!!
Any vehicles with wireless technology such as 'Onstar' can be compromised by someone with the right 'education'. Meaning; (in the mind of a well educated car thief) the automobiles locks, alarm, GPS, and the ignition deactivation/activation feature of such a device (as the story mentions) would ALSO be 'deactivated' and rendered useless. And, yes, although I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I do firmly believe that our government conducts many 'affairs' with or without proper legality. So, in my opinion, it's only a matter of time before the U.S. government begins using such technology as a means of 'tracking targets'. Some auto insurance companies ALREADY offer their customers considerable discounts if owners agree to install a sort of vehicle monitoring device which plugs into the auto's ECM. But, I hope that whoever DOES agree to install it doesn't EVER get into a serious accident to which they could be blamed. Because, the information collected on such devices CAN be used in court as evidence against it's owner!
This story is simply proof positive that ANY technology can be used for both good and evil purposes. I can understand why a financed automobile would need such technology; simply as a deterent to late or non-paying customers. But, the popularity of other technology such as 'OnStar' still hasn't impressed me! Remember folks; ANYTHING that can be wirelessly accessed and/or activated is EVEN MORE susceptible to being hacked! (i.e. computers, autos, cell phones, garage doors, and even cordless phones)..........AND, hacking into a wireless system does NOT require a, "former employee" of 'whatever company' to do it! Did you know that some of America's lawmakers have already entertained the idea of passing a law which would require ALL new vehicles to be standardly-equipped with such devices as in this story?? Guess who that, "idea" is most popular with...........insurance companies and cops!!!
Yes. But, other than the fact that the authorities had evidence through a prior report of suspected neglect to make the arrest on the suspect, what good came from anyone notifying the authorities, when considering that the poor woman died before anyone could get her help?
