I do see and understand the desire to have one person in Washington advocating for your interests. What I see as naive is the expectation of how much impact that one person can have; it's similar to the frustration I see progressives have with Obama and not seeming to understand that he's constrained in what he can do, for both political reality reasons and separation of powers, checks-and-balances reasons. To have actual change, you need more than One Person in Washington advocating for your position, you need an entire party or subset of the party.
