Here's an interesting one for you.... I live in Iowa and we have an anual bike ride through the state. A couple years ago a girl in a town close to mine set up a kool-aid stand during one of the stops. I believe the police acutually came and shut her down because she did not have the proper licence. Can you believe that we are already teaching out children that owning a buisness is a bad idea. I was also told that if she had sold the kool aid she would have had to pay a tax on a portion of the profits as well....I wasnt able to confirm the last part though. I heard it from some one who lived in that town.

The executive branch is intened to enforce laws, the legislature is intended to create law, and the Judicial branch is there to ensure the constitutionality of the laws and clarify laws when needed. The most important thing to remember is that this is in effect at the STATE level as well. The federal government is not the most important level, the state level is. The states are the ones that have the most control over what is said about the people. The federal level is there as a failsafe for the people when the states infringe upon rights and to ensure regularity among the states. The federal level is where states get together to dicuss a certain LIMITED amount of laws. The president is the face of the people when meeting with other countries but must adhere to what the people decide.
The states and localities hold the most power. They are the foundation, and the federal government is the roof. With out the walls and foundation the "roof" would crumble and fall.

Before you comment to this please note that I am not being sarcastic or rude in any way. I am just looking for more information at this point. I wish to find out what you want them to do or accomplish. I only say this because I have taken some legal classes and from what I have learned the legal system is very complex. I learned alot about what you can and cannot do and when you can do things. There may be reasons for why they havent done anything that we may not understand.

For those who are participating in the Stamp Peeve !!
I dont know if anyone has mentioned this.....Sometimes you get junk mail that comes with pre paid postage. You can easily make an address lable over those envelopes and use them for your cause.
Just a suggestion

Another benefit to no income tax is the fact that companies could essentially pay a worker a dollar or more less and the worker would still be better off than if they made more and were taxed more. The money saved by the company on wages could go toward better and cheaper health benefits, better vacation or PTO benefits, life insurance, and could go toward bettering worker health and safety. Imagine if you work in an area with repetitive motions and once a week your employer paid for a massage or physical therapy.

Lastly: There is something that I have noticed about the character of people and I have come to see that there are two types of people. The first type of person will be handed a task, lets use painting a house as an example. They will ask for help but when recieving none they will tackle the house head on and when they are finished they will look up at thier work with pride at what they were able to acomplish. The second type will, when unable to recieve help, finish the job and then notice that the front is worse than the back and that they missed some spots here or there. When they see these imperfections they begin to think that if only they had help it could have been better. The difference between the two is that the latter will never be satisfied and the first will always succeed. It is the choices that we make in life, not just at the begining, but our choices we make everyday that determine which person we will be. (sorry for the triple post for my comment my computer doesnt seem to like this site)

4. For people to understand that not everyone will agree on everything all of the time, but when they open themselves up to the ideas of others and take the time hear each side only then can an objective opinion be made.
5. For people to remember that our pursuit of happiness(our personal success) is an inalienable right, not a character flaw. All big businesses started out as small businesses and through hard work and good managment they were able to grow. Also it is important for the businesses to remember that we as a consumer are not obligated to purchase thier product. We can not buy their goods just as easily as we bought them.
6. For people to understand that HONESTY is and will always be the best policy.

My Wish list:
1. For the government to learn that their enumerated powers ARE LIMITED and for them to stop weasling laws in under false pretenses.
2. For the government to understand the term opperator error and the phrase "if it aint broke dont fix it". So many claim that Capitalism doesnt work. It can only work if you use it and use it correctly.
3. For everyone, not only politicians, to stop pointing fingers. When we focus on blaming others for what has happened we loose focus on the fact that something has happened and it needs to be CORRECTED, (not just fixed).

I think you are confusing your terms. The Fore Fathers did not want to leave a Capitolistic Society they wanted to leave a corrupt monarchy. They understood that when a person or a select few are allowed to rule without the consent of the people then freedom ceases to exist. Capitolism did not destroy freedom tyranny did.
