YES, we had to WEAR SUITS. It made me so irrationally angry, mostly because it was freezing cold in the civic center and my skirt suit, though seasonless wool, was still, you know, partially a skirt. The jacket part was toasty though! Arghhhhhhdfhkjdhgkdahkgjr.

Today, I am sitting on my couch reading the hundreds of work emails I have to catch up on and trying to muster the energy to clean my poor neglected apartment. Poor, sad apartment.

Good luck to you too! When do you find out? We have an approximate date of October 17.

I took the Virginia bar exam, so now I will have time to read for realsies again, instead of furtively sneaking chapters of books on the Metro like some sort of junkie. I graduated from law school two years ago, failed the bar the first time, and now I'm trying it again. We'll see! Thankfully, my job doesn't depend on it, but it would certainly be nice.

As a person with bipolar disorder who hopes to become pregnant someday, I cannot thank you enough for doing this research. I hope you know just how important it really is.

Also, as a person with bipolar disorder, I have become really, really good at reading studies linked from the bullshit scare tactic news reporting articles my parents love to send me. I had actually heard of pretty much every study you mentioned in your piece/in the comments! Hahahahahaha *cries*

ETA: Also, I took epidemiology in law school (crossover course from our nursing and health studies school) so study reading is actually fun!

I just want to say that Kirsten Dunst in this movie was my first post-puberty celeb crush and so I spent the next few years very confused indeed about this topic.

My relatives have a boy cat that they named Sarah before they knew "she" was a he. They get very offended when we refer to him as a her. Whatever.

More disability writing of any kind on the Toast/in the world is something I can get down with, and I apologize for sounding bitter/needy.

*mumble* I'm considering writing up something about performance and mental illness and passing. I've had this piece in mind for years but never have quite gotten it out.

<333333 this is the best comment, and I love your inversion observation. I think it rings exactly true.

I'd love to see that article if you find it! Do you think it was from disabledfeminists.com? (Everyone go read that site!! Amazing archives of work.)

As someone with what could be considered "some mental problems" I definitely agree! (I was hoping to scroll to the end of the section/article? and see it and in my wildest dreams see it talk about psychiatric disability as a thing! but no haha that never happens, invisible disabilities represent.)
