As the own--I mean, slave--to two black cats, I know this look well.

The base looks almost like frosted glass in this pic but is actually dark bronze. The shade is pieced glass--a sort of root beer brown and cream. I LOVE Tiffany glass. I looked for months for which lamp I wanted (it's for the endtable in my living room). I'm of the "if it's baroque, don't fix it" school of interior decorating so I was looking for a dramatic tiffany glass lamp but felt like most of them looked to cheesy so I went with this one. It seems like every kid with the last name Tiffany makes glass lamps now, but this one is Meyda Tiffany (I'll admit there was another lamp I liked a little better but it was $800 bucks, and I just won't pay that for a table lamp).

And yeah, fingers crossed about the cat. I'm getting some sticky base stuff to put under the lamp (not the cat, though that might have been more effective) to keep it from getting knocked over and breaking the shade.
