Because there is a thirst for power at all levels of society and those who founded those organizations needed to over 40 years ago. But they have outlived their usefulness and unfortunately have been used and abused by unscrupulous people who are only seeking their own welfare. So now, they are the "big business" of the "workers" the underprivileged and must keep people under their shoes in order to claim to speak for them. Tell me one person who has ever succeeded by "group think"...but there are many who have suceeded with their individual initiatives.

I don't. They are still infighting about whether to smooze the voters and capture more or to stand up and fight. Very few are willing to risk their cushy jobs and benefits.

Many people and companies can opt out. If they do then the employee who does not contribute does not collect. Mostly, it is religious workers who are covered by private or church retirement plans and it saves money for the non'profit. There are companies and municipalities that have opted out and have their own. But they are few and far between because of the red tape. You bring up an interesting question....why don't we opt out and put our money in our own plan....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Don't you care what is happening to our country, our children and their children? This is not progressive this is Chicago Alinsky politics. The last governor was arrested for it.

I am so glad you are getting what you want...you won't have to work, you can stand in line for health care, you can watch your children not learn, you can squeeze into you tiny car and try to avoid the semis....you can lose your home and hope you have a tent...you can enjoy $5. gas because the green movement doesn't work....you can try to grow your own food, but the Dept of Agriculture might regulate you....or you can stop exhaling so you don't produce carbon dioxide. But you probably won't get to do all those things because we should be nuked by then.

It is too bad that you can only be critical. That is the MO of a community organizer...stir up conflict, distract and upset people. So do you work for ACORN or one of the affiliates?

His plan is to use this reasoning to pass his health care, education, etc very quickly because it is an emergency. That way we don't have a chance to object. His date is July 31

Sue Congress for misappropriation of funds, boycott the census, place tax liabilities in a trust until the government stops spending, impeach Obama for fiscal malfeasance, and work through state legislatures to stop the fed from forcing national health care, education reform, state or regional bank seizures....and many many more. What you don't understand is that it is not actions or protests but a complete disagreement on matters of principle and a lack of common sense in trying to spend our way out of debt. Even Obama says it is unsustainable.....but he is just trying to use that argument to quickly pass more bad legislation. The back door activities are nuts, let me give you an example. On Feb 4 the Federal Register published Obama's executive order to give millions to help the Palestinians immigrate to the US. These people are Hamas friendly, not being screened (how could they). The immigrants on this emergency order will receive homes, income, transportation, etc. at tax payer expense.
