I'm so glad I didn't see this until I got off desk. Now at least I have an hour to get all my crying out in my office. I really feel for all the Toastbrarians who are reading this on desk right now. :(

Yes! Wii tournaments were also the biggest attraction at my hometown library. That's definitely high on the list.

HIIII Toast, I am a very infrequent poster but I just had to share that this week I was offered a job as a real! live! Young Adult librarian! Eeeeeee!
I graduated library school a few years ago in the midst of recession hell, and I've been doing various underpaid grunt-work jobs ever since hoping to move up in my super-competitive library system. And lo and behold! It finally paid off :D
Anyone have any words of advice to share about working with teh teenz? I've been doing tech services stuff for the past few years so my public service skills are a bit rusty. I'm so excited but also so nervous!

Ahahaha I was just here a few months ago and there was much giggling about how the sign in the entryway says "Welcome to the Jane Austen Centre" above a picture of Colin Firth Darcy. I bought some underwhelming "Jane Austen Blend" tea and a Pride and Prejudice mug anyway though because I am a suckerrrrr.

Awww, I had that exact thought re: "just you wait" vs. "wait for it" earlier today. There are, in fact, a million things I haven't done (because I am afraid of everything) and it would be nice to start doing them. We can do it!

I'm imagining it was written by my ridiculous coworker who is also named Sam and also believes in the Illuminati, except he is super afraid of technology and so would never have Facebook.

Yay! I obviously don't know how she felt about it but for me it would have been totally worth driving all that way. They were SO GOOD. And also Fred Armisen showed up at the end and sang Rock Lobster.

I REALLY WANTED TO but he had headphones on and I didn't want to bother him and I basically just wimped out. Also I was too busy flailing at my boyfriend and going "LIN! LIN! IT'S LIN!" to which he replied "what are you talking about who's Lynn" and I just shouted "YOU KNOW! LIN!" a bunch more times in a slightly unhinged manner. You'd think after months of all Ham all the time he would know exactly which Lin.

OK SO yesterday I was in a cab on my way to a Sleater-Kinney concert and we passed by Lin-Manuel Miranda waiting to cross the street. I have now reached #peaktoast and will shortly be taking to the sea.
