I just read the page where the President is urging me to be a watchdog against the nay-sayers. God bless him for that. Here is my list of evil lies they are spreading:
-This bill takes away personal freedom, through taxation penalties, if you do not adhere to what the government tells you that you must do in relation to your health care.
-This bill severely limits your choices for health care insurance (no more so-called disaster insurance, even if it works best for your situation)
-This bill only allows you to keep your existing coverage until something (other than adding a dependent) changes, then you are forced into the system
-This bill forces companies to provide, through taxation penalties, insurance for employees, if the company brings in $250k or more. Can you say dictating operational decisions even when the company hasn't received govt bailout money?
-This bill takes the taxes used to fund it, and pays for 50% of the cost of the healthcare small businesses provide to their employees. Of coarse it's only as long as they make under $250k, employ a small number of employees, and don't pay any of them over $80k per year. Can you say giving incentive to stay small and never grow?
-This bill puts in place all of the sweeping Medicare changes we have turned down before, because they simply cost too much. Can you say funding a severely cripples system?
-This bill plays Robin Hood, and takes from the rich to give to the poor.
-This bill lays out a framework, that, with the proper amendments (which are MUCH easier to get past the main stream citizen), could easily control every aspect of your life, as long as they can remotely link it to your health and well being. Of coarse the would never do anything like that (*cough* regulating interstate commerce *cough*)
Oh wait, never mind. Those are the truths. On second thought, I'm totally against this bill for those reasons.
Have a nice day :)

It only takes a few "facts" debunked to make the majority of people (also unwilling to do their research), think that everything we say is a lie. For instance, the "mandatory death talks between citizens and government", are not that at all yet. The operative word being YET. There problem is the farmework, and monetary outlay that this bill brings along.
The things they will tout in this bill are true. They will say that this bill will ensure that insurance companies don't drop you because you get sick. True.
They will say that this bill will ensure pre-existing conditions do not stop you from getting "fairly" priced insurance. True.
They will say that this bill makes the appeals process easier and more open for you. True.
Things we can say that are true:
-This bill takes away personal freedom, through taxation penalties, if you do not adhere to what the government tells you that you must do in relation to your health care.
-This bill severely limits your choices for health care insurance (no more so-called disaster insurance, even if it works best for your situation)

So, if you've gotten this far in my post, hopefully it has made since. Don't propagate the lies they are going to use to bring down our movement. Show the truth to everyone that will listen.
Oh, and please report me to them? Thanks!

1. displaying their particular beliefs
2. trying to express where they feel this government is heading
As for 1, I'm pretty sure you are still allowed freedom of speech in this country. At least it hasn't been outlawed expressly yet. We have to allow others to express themselves if we are to be allowed to express ourselves (seriously, read the book "You Can't Say That", it is so very important in these coming times of social justice).
As for 2, it must have hit home with her, huh?

By the way, I gave you +rep, because I have felt your frustration before. I will remind you that hostility is not the way to reason with people who can be reasoned with, and trying to reason with the other crowd is just silliness.

Stop the cap-n-trade framework, stop the health care reform framework, and work towards implementing the fair tax, and we will show what common sense and level-headedness can accomplish. While the "have to make judgements quickly", we will show them thoughtfulness is the better avenue.

I sent a letter to Governor Manchin, hoping that he would support our desire to see this bill killed before it starts. I received back a letter from someone on his staff that basically said (in non-committal politician speak), that he actually supported this bill, so he won't be putting pressure on our State's reps to kill it. The staffer did say, however, that they are receiving many emails on the subject. If we are going to get our goals met, we will need buy in from the States, and for them to put pressure on their state representatives to congress.
I responded again, further explaining my grievances with the bill. Don't give up. Keep on them. Go after them with true and just accusations, and let them know you are boss.

"Under my plan of 'spend America's future away on stuff that leads to complete bankruptcy', taxes would necessarily skyrocket, and socialism will necessarily take over"
The just thought that would be a bit forward for the time he made the speech, so they opted for the cap-n-trade thing..
