The icon you are seeing is most likely the hide/show annotations icon. clicking the dimension will toggle visibility while in this mode. If you are not in this mode select hide/show annotations in the view pull-down.

Hi Billy,

Actually I have not any experience with any packages other them PDMWorks. I would be intersted in finding out the same. Tell you what I will do, I will ask a couple of my friends that work for some VARs and see what their take on it is. Thanks for the comment...keep 'em coming!

I spent the weekend trying to figure out a way. I even put a call out to some of the other SolidWorks geeks I know and apparently....you can't hide it. Sorry...

The post was getting way too long, close to 2500 words. I tried to trim some steps while still preserving the info. This is one of my hardest yet.

Yes you can add the Instant3D button to the shortcut bar. When you right click on the Shortcut bar and select Customize, go to the Features category and drag the Instant3D button directly onto your Shortcut bar.

No real reason. It's just the Arc tool I tend to use most often. It's calls back to my old AutoCAD days.

I have been planning on doing a whole series on plastic parts including designing parts, molds and drawings. I will probably be able to start covering that towards the end of summer.

Unfortunately you will need to modify your calloutformat.txt file that is located in program filesSolidWorkslangenglish.
