I would like to see a more co-orindated effort. Rightly or wrongly I see Atheism as weak against the institutions of religion. To truly redress the balance in society, atheism and its followers ("movement") need to get organised. It might not be in our nature to force things on others, but to achieve the aim of proliferation, we must.
Here are some of the things "churches" have, that we need:
- Money - huge great big pots of $bns
- Power
- Political influence
- Indoctrination, yes in schools, yes lets make Atheist Church Sunday Schools
- Fear and isolation, yes make people feel ashamed of god and social outcasts
- [Insert here all the tools that churches use to promote themselves]
I hate the idea that we should deploy all the nasty methods that churches do to get our point of view adopted, but being philosophers, logical, virtuous and liberal will not win the day.
[PS - yes I am feeling a little angry today, so don't take it too seriously]
