ooh! you had me at paul giamatti playing paul giamatti. when does this come out in normal, non-film festival theaters?

i like the poster art. and your review leads me to believe that i will probably like this. also, i am stealing that "my heart is a snack" line. maybe i'll give it a little personal touch--"my heart is a cheez-it"? mmm...cheez-its.

i definitely need to check this one out, although i think my poor excuse for an entertainment system would not do the dvd form of this justice.

will i still like this movie even if i'm not a *huge* fan of any of these people?

did you call phillip a chode? i like the sweets analogy--there's a stark difference between fluff for fluff's sake and a sweet story with enough substance to withstand a serious plot twist. i need to check this out when it comes out on dvd. also, now i want ice cream, and it's 9:40 am.

totally agreed. although i started to dislike max on the cruise. i mean, i get it. he's way too young and hip and doesn't belong there, but it's not like anyone forced him to go. i think it was clear at that point that max was going to be his removed, too-cool-for-school self the whole time and not genuinely interact with his environment. and that weird other-guy-on-the-cruise character was wildly unnecessary.

i think you forgot to mention how creepy john travolta looks. that's got to knock it down to a 1/10, right?

as usual, a well-written review. i shall be skipping this one.
