Agreed. The atmosphere of this game is simply beautiful. I can't even describe how excited I get every time new scenic artwork like the backgrounds of the Japanese site come out: http://www.zeldadungeon.net/gallery/thumbnails.ph...

I'm deleting anything inflammatory. You guys are troll baiting simply by calling him out. Stop it.

You may have triggered a glitchy autodelete filter; you're not the only one who's had that happen :/

You do raise a good point though, and my thoughts are that the Golden Goddesses are not forgotten persay, just considerably less important to the Skyloftians than their one Goddess. In the games that follow, the story of the Golden Goddesses is recited by guardian spirits that directly serve the Golden Goddesses, like the Great Deku Tree in OoT or Lanayru in TP. In SS, this legend intro seems to be given by Fi, spirit of the Goddess Sword, who holds a greater loyalty to the Skyloftians' Goddess than she does to the Golden Goddesses.

It says that the power Her Grace, the goddess holds was passed down from gods of old. I'm willing to bet the gods of old are the Golden Goddess Din, Nayru, and Farore. This new Goddess is the same Goddess as the one depicted on that giant statue in Skyloft, and I think she is a different kind of deity akin to a guardian deity of some kind. It's highly unlikely that only one of the Golden Goddesses would act alone to guard the Triforce.

Fi, why are you so beautiful? Nintendo, why have you not released her full size official art yet?

The Light Spirits are introduced in TP, yes, but they were retconned into the Zelda timeline. According to TP, they descended to the land below to seal away the Dark Interlopers sometime LONG before the events of TP. The fact that their names appear in SS suggests that they had descended to the land below before the events of SS even. I think the use of their names in SS is to help cement together a few more fragments of the Zelda timeline.

The names are not a throwback to TP, but a reference to the Light Spirits, who descended to Hyrule long before the story of TP took place.
