I had a good friend of mine that was a CRNA, and when she was compaining about mal-practice insurance rates one day, it came to light that I paid more 5 years earlier for garage keepers liability than she did for her insurance. My gross sales per year were between 1/2 and 2/3's for what her reported income was. So I ask you, why don't garage owners and dealers band together like the medical community and drive auto repair costs through the roof? Oh yeah, I forgot we are professionals, and they are just practicing. And most of us have a conscience.

Why is it that anyone in their right mind would spend millions to obtain a job that pays $100,000 or so? And why is it that the line-item veto never gets to the floor? The answer is the same for both questions. Corruption at the highest levels of government. Until we get smart and don't elect people who are career politicians, and insist on a "return on our investment" just like we have in the "real world", we will continue to slide down the slope that falls off the left side of the scale into the pit of socialism. Oh, and to stop tax evasion, why not a federal income tax. If you buy goods or services, you pay. No income tax on investments or savings, just on what you buy.
