Get on facebook, alert Animal Control and the humane society. Hang posters all around your neighborhood. Hire a pet detective, they exist, and they can help.

So sad. The person who found the dog absolutely positively should have contacted Animal Control first and foremost. Unbenounced to them, Craigslist is the exact place you woudln't want to advertise a "free" husky. I say free because anyone can then claim the dog. Craigslist is well known for selling and dealing dogs for animal testing and dog fighting bait dogs.

I wish the best for this man and hope he finds his beloved pet. I could only imagine how he must be feeling. So sad

I completed a weapons class and you HAVE to respect the wishes of the businesses with signs posting no firearms.

Very sad. Wish he would have called the fire department. I'm inclined to say, I also, probably would have done the same thing...

Here is what can be done to help:
1) If you have a pit bull, make sure you are compliant with any ordinance and for God's sake, make sure the dog is well-behaved
2) If an ordinance is discriminating against this breed in your city, talk to the City Council about it
3) When the media sensationalizes a pit bull story - call them out on it. Call the reporter and ask them to show both sides. Call the station and ask if this would have made the news if it wasn't a pit bull. Call competing stations and ask for them to cover the REAL side of the story.
4) Likewise, when there is a good story in the news or a bad story about another breed, call the media out on why they're not reporting on it.
5) Support advocacy groups like BADRAP and the ARL's Pit Crew Club (both are on Facebook).
6) Last, but not least. There are WAY too many pit bulls in the US and they are the number 1 breed to end up in shelters and the #1 to be euthanized. ADOPT a pit bull from a shelter or rescue group. DO NOT SUPPORT BREEDERS.

Sure did! It's in the Des Moines area and ARL is taking care of it!
