One of my best friends in college was Korean-American (ok, she still is) and I can't tell you how many times she had this conversation:

Person: "So, where are you from?"
Roommate: "[Suburban town less than 100 miles away]."
Person: "You know what I mean."
Like it was incumbent on her to satisfy their curiosity and they were IRKED that she didn't. One guy pursued it until she told him her parents were from Korea and then he paused a beat and followed up with, "You ever watch M*A*S*H?"

100% true story. I witnessed soooo many of those conversations, but that was the worst.

Here's what I learned from reading romance novels:
1) No desirable man ever laughs without first throwing his head back.
2) Wanting to have sex with you and/or being angry literally makes his eyes a darker color.

I fall asleep like a champ when it's time do be doing other things, like working. Sometimes I spend all day fighting it. But at night when it is actual bedtime, I stay awake like a champ. [sad trombone]

The second one and the third-to-last one and also: I have to do a thing. Then I have to do another thing. By bedtime I still won't have done all the things and I frankly don't feel like doing ANY of the things.

All the Smithsonian museums are free and there's something for everyone: National Gallery of Art, Natural History, Air & Space, American Indian, American History... on and one. Any of them would be worth your time (and did I mention free?).
