Thanks for the new options with Twitter & FB connect. With the new signin options, I'd really love to see the option to Turn off Post as a guest. Right now, the option is only to require "Commenters must signup with IntenseDebate before posting."

Using this on a news site, we get a lot of racist dribble w/o requiring a login, but with Twitter, FB and Open ID logins, it gives the users an easy experience to comment w/o having to register for another account. But users are less likely to spew hate comments if they're name is attached to it.

We had a formatting error in a previous version that doubled up the script. We corrected it as soon as we noticed it.

The first poster was correct; we did have some errors in the first version of this story. We has since corrected it, and updated it with a new version of the story. We'll be the first to admit we're not perfect when it comes to grammar, but we do try to correct errors when they are pointed out.

In most instances we do not edit direct quotes in a story. If you watch the video you will see it's taken from the witness. We are trying to remember to put the [sic] reference when this happens, but we don't always think about it.

For the record, the driver was behind the ambulance, driving in the same direction on Illinois.

@All ... Yes we're still tweaking our swear filter. It's more aggressive than our old one.
