I've noticed that about baking potatoes, but then I also prefer red potatoes to white/yellow ones. I just pilfer spuds the right size out of my bag. Alternatively, leftover baked potatoes make AWESOME hashbrowns!

No, I haven\'t tried bread yet. I\'d thought to try more solar stuff camping this weekend but the weather wasn\'t perfect for it with storms rolling through. I\'ll be watching the weather on Sunday, though. Family wedding Saturday so won\'t be home enough to rotate the cooker.

Both the meals I\'ve done turned out excellent, but I wasn\'t patient enough with the brownies. After 2.5 hours the toothpick came out clean in a whole bunch of spots, but apparently it lied. Underneath, it was mostly fudge. Yummy though!

Hi Wendy! Nice to meet you. Do you know of any fiction currently on the market with Christian environmental themes? I know of a few non-fic titles, but no fiction that I've found.

The six weeks is for REwriting. Hoping it will be doable this time--I've done it before.

The organic dairy near us is only producing cheese at this time, though they're working towards yogurt, butter, and glass-bottled milk. Canada's dairy laws are stringent, so the changes aren't easy to find. And yes, expensive.

Thanks, Jean. I appreciate your comment about my ripple effect. I'm glad I've been able to toss a few pebbles in various directions and help some new ripples to grow. The fact remains that I'm not changing THE world, only changing MY world. But that is not as insignificant as it seems.

Patricia, I've been asking for digital arcs or review copies for awhile now. Sadly, not every book I get for review deserves a place on my keeper or loaner shelves. This way I figure I can always make the purchase if it seems like I ought to own it!
