Maybe he could re-locate these displaced persons to a shiny new city. Too bad he's against using our natural resources, we could have our own version of Siberia in Alaska and force the peasants to exploit nature for the betterment of the masses in the south. I supose we could build a "green" siberia in the mid west with no roads, cars or factories. Just collective organic farming to feed the masses. Think of the possibilities.......
I took my wife out last night as well. We dined at a lovely Irish type pub, enjoyed an inexpensive burger and a cool brew..... Oh, wait, no one cares? This isn't newsworthy? My bad. Never mind. Sorry to bother you.
Invalid link, can't read it. As far as something called the Canadian Free Press, that's a bit of an oxy-moron. Just ask Mark Steyn. It doesn't exist in Canada.
If the US goes to a national healthcare system where will foreign politicians go for their medical treatments? Trust me, I used to live in Canada and whenever a politico or their family are in need they rush south for the best care in the world. Good enough for the masses but hey, I'm special. Almost sounds like Mr Biden concerning mass transit. Is our system perfect? No. Are the others better? No. I see benefits from both systems as well as major flaws in both. You shouldn't be afraid of going to the doctor because it's going to cost too much but then you shouldn't wonder if your doctor gives a damn as he is going to get a paycheck anyway. If you like long lines in the emergency room because your doctor can't see you for 3 weeks, rationed services to save costs and all around mediocre service, great. By the way, it's really not free. Compare the tax rates in both countries. Tax free day in Canada in months later than ours. I could go on forever.
Hey America, I want to say I'm sorry for sending Mr. Leahy to Washington. Please know that not all of us here in Vermont like him or voted for him. Talk about a reason for term limits..... Then there is Mr Sanders...sorry.
Living in Canada I married a Canadian (got her US citizenship 3 years ago). When we decided to move to the US I had to get "green cards" for her and our 3 year old daughter. Even though I am American I had to jump through unbelievable hoops to get these cards... physicals, aids tests, tuberculosis tests, documents beyond belief and a lot of money and time invested. If the tests came back positive entrance woud have been denied. Citizenship cost even more. I was made to verify my net worth to prove that I could support them for three years without relying on public assistance. Insanity. Now they are talking of giving illegals a free pass- in-state tuition, free medical, counting them in the census etc. Where is the justice? My wife wrote our senator to voice her displeasure and stated that this was unfair to people that immigrate legally and was tole this was a totally different situation. Anyhow, if we see an amnesty program you will see her asking for her money back. Anyone else out there in the same situation? We have been written off as crazy racists but there is strength in numbers.
Why is this a surprise? Maybe we can have Barney Frank step in and fix things just like he did with the housing mess. Imagine, in just a few short years we could all be driving American made Yugos! I am sick of people buying into the mantra that the US companies have not made cars that we need. No, they make cars that Americans want- big, powerful, comfortable. If the media and the left could only realize that there is a whole lot of country between LA and NY that needs trucks, sport utilities etc. We work with our vehicles, we drive a lot and there usually isn't a subway for us to take. Have you ever noticed the bumper stickers you see on a hybrid? Never pro-American or pro-soldier or even a positive message. But you will always find an Obama/save the environment/save the polar bears left wing cause. The liberal elite wants us to all drive tin can econoboxes to save the world. The real issue is that the big three really can't rely on the govt to not change the rules during the game, they can make the cars that the government is insisting on, just tell them what they need to do. Then there's the small financial issue so people are afraid to spend money on a new car. By getting rid of Wagoner et all is just another way of forcing the general public to be led like sheep. And lastly, do you think an Obama puppet in GM will argue against cap and trade? Not likely, he will be spouting about how great it will be for GM, the US and the world. God I love socialism!
Let me see if I get this right. George Bush was wrong because he didn't rely on diplomacy with Korea and Iran but it's no longer a good idea as these guys don't really negotiate in good faith. George Bush has ruined our reputation around the world by not being reliable but we won't likely set up a missile shield in Poland etc. We "could" shoot down a missile if you aim it at Hawaii but we probably won't. I guess I "could" say that this administration doesn't have a clue what they are up to and who we are up against. But I won't. God help us all. I used to think I would just sit back for four years, watch the silliness and enjoy the ride. This coaster is too scary, can I please get off now?
Term limits, term limits, term limits. Oh yea, how about term limits too.
Let's see. We ban all physical activity at schools so kids can't hurt eachother physically or even more importantly, mentally and for some reason kids are now overweight and can't sit still during class. Hmmmm. It must be the soda companies and junk food they are eating. I remember recess as a time to burn off excess energy and calories. When called back to class we seemed to be able to sit still and learn, even without ritalin or teachers aides. Naa, it must be the soda.
