10 years of stand-up comedy + 25 years of photography, and what brought them together was blogging. Was originally personal brand stuff, but has taken on life of its own, and I'd do stand-up to promote blog rather than other way round now. I also wanted to slag off our main daily newspaper. It all fits!

Perhaps why wordpress grouphosted (wp.com) hasn't implemented yet after automattic bought iID. Wordpress .com doesn't allow any java, so they must have been sure a non java was on the way or have insisted on non java version. WP very proud of the google visibility of their blogs. Also, it is just so damn useful to have comment keywords come up in google.

So are you making a response re your blog and the recent intensedebate switch? I'm interested to know because wordpress grouphosted (.com) is going to go intense debate soon apparently. I get a lot of traffic through comment hits via google and will be interested to know how this will be handled. wordpress seems to be fairly seo sensitive so I assume it will be sorted.

Apparently so. Perhaps it's the 150 wedding videos I shot and edited on vhs as a youth, or the woeful Australian broadband speeds now, but I often catch myself making a frowning face if there's just video and almost no text on a post.

Well this is really interesting. Instead of punishing people for uploading, they're encouraging. Fantastic. If only I could get over my dislike of video on the computer. Just hate it. Something to do with the specific time required. Love stills online, which have no maximum or minimum time, but something about knowing I have to sit there for 2 minutes really turns me off.

From Blogstorm and elsewhere it seems that incompetence and or ignorance is the reason not malice. That is possibly even worse. That such a high ranking website's owners have no idea of the imporatance to themselves and others of these things is almost unbelievable.

It's good. I like the ease of replying to particular commenters rather than having to reference a comment number. Waiting for the .com version at wordpress group hosted. Would ake a big difference to me. i tend to have several mini conversations going on in a big popular post.

I have had an influence on my city in a modest way with my blog. I was able to have a 7 tonne sculpture removed from the city, (major road closed, cranes etc) after the Lord Mayor began to read my blog The Worst of Perth. Quite good for a satirical siteI thought. The city's major paper ran with "Blogger evicts eyesore art." I'm aiming for mass book burning next, heh heh.

"intelligent readers are more profitable in the long run." That's not something you read every day.

I think it is often the newsblogs that are the last to get the cocreator thing. Journos have traditionally owned the story, and they can be reluctant to let go.
