This is all a bit ridiculous. He made a couple of mistakes--they've been retracted. At some point, "why can't I express my opinion? I'm entitled!" doesn't hold water anymore. Move on to the next "Oops" out there that sent you so unnecessarily into uproar.

Great column and sound advice! Kmo and I had a lot of our geekiness in common when we met, but after we got married we were able bring a lot more of it together. In the past 6 months I have gotten her to read some of the popular comics from the past decade and she's gotten hooked on those. Often it just takes a willingness to experience something new, and you're in business!
