I'm really confused. The MN SoS webpage, as of 8 PM last night, Franken leads Coleman by 2535 votes. Then again, the original count has Franken ahead, which isn't what CNN and others reported... What's going on here?
I live in South Carolina, and this is shocking to me. Sanford and the GOP-dominated state legislature are calling on state agencies to cut spending by a some percentage I can't seem to remember. The way these agencies are having to carry these cuts out by laying off thousands of employees and asking all their remaining employees to take x number of days off without pay. Cutting any pay--much less all of it--in tough times like these puts employees in a horrible situation; for the government to do so strikes me as socially irresponsible The reason for SC's budget troubles, I heard reported on NPR this morning, is not the recession but is tax cuts. So much for the idea of fiscally, socially responsible Republicans, I suppose.
Well, I'm sure Republicans like Susan Collins will probably vote with the Dems a fair amount of the time. We don't really need to have 60 for cloture in that case. Here's hoping that Franken will pull off a victory.
Getting the cronyism (I'm looking at you, "Brownie") out of agencies as important as FEMA would be a start... When Obama does that (which he most certainly will), I'll really be able to say "heckuva job." (2 Bush allusions!)
If these end up being a large portion of Coleman's challenged ballots, I think Franken will be headed to DC.

I should've done better, but I'm 15, and I beat the average of 77.4%, so I'm happy about that.
This is scary: Office Holders on the Three Branches of Government 49.32% correct
