Y'all, I have been finding that I am woefully undereducated in history. I would like to read books to work on changing this! Can you make me some recommendations? My interests include:

-Not entirely about Europe/White people
-Somewhat broader-scale is helpful, because I'm so poorly oriented that a focused topic is hard for me to contextualize
-Not entirely about wars and the conflicts of menz
-Tells me a story

If you have a favorite nonfiction book that meets any of those criteria, I'd love to hear about it.

I dunno, I use a divacup and all, but the idea of taking off my pants/tights/skirt/kilt in a work bathroom stall to shed my underpants that are now heavy with blood and have to be carried around all day, only to put on another pair and then have to repeat the process again several times that day sounds like not my idea of fun.

Mostly I don't like the idea of taking off my underwear at work.

Toasts, I think my boss is in rehab again. I thought he was doing ok, and then he was in the hospital...with no phone. It doesn't impact my work too much, especially as he plans to be back Monday, but it makes me sad. I am trying to think of it as a flare-up of a disease, and not in any more judgmental way. :(

The president of the university I work at sent an email to the entire campus with the subject "Proposal for Bear/Wine at venues on a trial basis".

Is this the right forum to speculate about why my grandma pronounces "batteries" as "bat trees"?

I've always found it particularly charming, but have no idea where it came from. She grew up in rural Kansas, but so did two of my other grandparents, and they don't do it.

I like to picture little furry bats in trees.

Let me know of your successes in turning would-be huggers, as I am very eager to hear of them.

I was like "what is all this crying that everyone seems to be doing? What's up with that?". And then this happened.
