I think the current administration has made it crystal clear that responsibility absolutely will NOT be rewarded, but government dependence IS rewarded. I think they are trying to make people dependent on the government. I refuse to stand in line at the Obama soup kitchen!

It is hard to say what I would do unless I was in the situation. If every measure was exhausted, including trying to sell the property, I guess I would have no choice but to walk away and start over. That would be tough for me especially since my house is about half paid off. Then again, I guess in my situation I could sell my house for 1/2 price and still salvage my credit. Houses in my area are still selling and the prices have not dropped much at all.

Taylor1... I am currently in the position of which you speak. I am a homeowner who has always made my payments on time. I did not get in over my head when purchasing a house. I have recently been laid off, and while things are tight, we are making it. We were a 2 income household, currently making it in one income. We are making changes in our finances so that we can easily make it on one income. Despite the current circumstances, I plan to honor my obligations and pay my bills. It just requires sacrifice.

I think if any country tries to take us over it will be China. The borrower is servant to the lender. Since China holds most of the US debt, we are now in servitude to a communist country.

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who misses "Dubya". No, Bush was not perfect and I was mad as heck at him over the first bailout. However, I never doubted that Bush was doing everything he could to protect our country. Now I worry about our national security with the current events playing out now. We are not even 100 days into the Obama administration and my list of concerns grows each and every day.

All I can say is we had better watch out for what else is going on when the media circus jumps on this one. Obama reversed his earlier decision (soon after the Tea Party protests). I wonder if this is a diversion tactic. Does anyone remember what else was going on in the world during the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal? Neither do I... We just need to be careful that the media circus that is sure to follow does not cover up even more important issues.

I am quite certain that Perry is using this movement as an opportunity to further his career and to get re-elected in 2010. However, I figure that if he can use us for the benefit of himself, we can also use him to help get our point across. I'm sure that if you hooked Perry up to a lie detector, it would show that he does not support secession. Though, I am glad to see that people are paying attention to our frustration.

I went to a Tea Party today and there were hundreds (maybe thousands, I can't estimate well) there. Our local paper's online coverage only showed one picture of a single Obama supporter who was there to protest the protest. I thought it might be different here in Texas, but I guess not. If I didn't belive it before, which I did, but I have personally seen the media bias with my own eyes.

We were in Washington D.C. in September during the Bush bailout vote. We went to our Congressman's office in the House of Representatives for the official tour. Our Congressman made it a point to come out and meet us before we left. We had the opportunity to speak to him about the upcoming bailout vote. He said that about 90% of the e-mails and calls his office received were against the bailout. He voted "NO" on the Bush bailout and I gave him my vote in November. He is my one representative that seemed to listen to his constituents. He also voted "NO" on the Obama stimulus.

On the flip side, we received have only received the auto-response e-mails from our senators.

Does anyone else find it funny or ironic that the liberals are the one's pushing the global warming agenda, but it is the conservatives (mostly) who who fear the current administration's agenda that are buying up the solar generators, planting gardens, trying to get off the grid, etc.?? Maybe this is all a liberal tactic to get us all to "reduce our carbon footprint." :-)
