I quite like that they don't feel the need to show every detail on-screen, but trust that the audience is smart enough to piece a few things together.
The effort that they go to, to give detail, such as knowing from past episodes how protective dr Franklin is of his patients' records means that to me the only way Marcus could access them is by extraordinary means.
Dr Franklin's line confirming it was more than enough for me, particularly given how tight they must have been in such a packed episode.
