I am against gay marriage, but I am for them getting all the financial benefits of a state sanctioned marriage. Dolley, I believe you are giving an example that applies to very few gay couples, especially involving estate planning issues. Gays want marriage. If put on a ballot, I think people would be FOR what you want for your clients in your practice. But, instead they insist on the terminology of the word marriage.

I agree that there is an "ick factor" but what the gays want is the word "marriage." Even in states that give ALL the legal rights and finacial rights as marriage and call it civil union, it's not enough for them. They want the state to acknowledge their lifestyle choice.
