Just got back home from a weekend away. Must have missed Monica though I think the neighbors would have told me if a TV crew showed up in front of the house! Oh well, maybe next year!

Thanks beehivestate! Since you've been there maybe you can answer a couple other questions. There is an access door in the front closet going to the subfloor area. I was wondering if they showed how the door opens? We're doing a remodel and looking for thoughtful ideas on access doors. Also in the garage they showed a heater but I'm not sure if that was for comfort or need. Thank you in advance!

Wow!
Here I was bumming out about not getting the deed to the dream home and then I came to this blog and saw the comments about how winners are "supposed" to act. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't win because I sure wouldn't want to be ridiculed about my perceived lack of gratitude, emotion, intent or whatever. I'm sure a stunned silence wouldn't play well on TV but who knows how anyone would react. It's not like people are giving away multimillion dollar gifts in my neighborhood.... ever.
So congratulations to the Makstenieks and thanks to HGTV for letting me dream!
