Shame is not that Raj Thackrey is doing somethings which he has been doing for a long time. Shame is that even the Police is asking sweet-owner to take precautions instead of protecting him. This is a complete outrage - the rule of barbarians.

I am not welcomed here first time. I am regular reader of the blog :) If you remember you also commented on my blog in response to my comment on your post.

Anyway I agree that we don't have much of a choice as to alternatives. But the thing is even those whoever are available indulge in petty politics because they see the beneficial side of petty politics. For example, when BJP puts front the Hindutava agenda, Hindus consciously/subconsciously vote for that Hindutava agenda(not for other positive BJP characteristics). Of course, not all of people vote like that but there is pretty big vote-bank catering to identity/separatist politics in different regions.
And that is because we don't think development as whole, but we consider relative development. 'If my whole group/community gets benefited, it means I am relatively well at least than other group'. The need for Indians is to think clearly and rationally how every issue will affect them in the long run.
