Bachus is sort of a jerk. My father, who is one of his constituents, once sent him an email in which he took issue with Bachus on a piece of legislation. For his efforts, he was rewarded by having the congressman (or his minions) blocked my dad's email.

It means I am mad at the people running the church and don't feel welcome in the church where I was christened, confirmed and married.

The Presbyterian Church only has about 15 members. The Methodist Church, Episcopal Church and the Church of Christ seem fairly active. The Baptist Church and the Catholic Churches in the area seem to be fairly full. I, myself, no longer am a regular church goer (am, in theory, an Episcopalian). The majority of people in New Orleans are Roman Catholic, and, while the diocese has closed some churches, you can not escape Catholicism in the culture here.

I think his point was that in New Orleans, there is a church on practically every street corner. Off the top of my head, I can think of seven churches within walking distance of my house.

I must respectfully disagree with Mr. Smith.

There is a theme throughout the books, which is that sometimes you have to chose between what is right and what is easy. The character's choices have consequences. This is not unlike Big Hollywood. For most of y'all in show business, it is easier to keep your mouth shut and let the Janeane Garofalos speak for everyone. However it is not right. So you come here.

These books are written for children. It is also important to understand that they take place in Great Britain. They don't contain a lot of the touchy-feely-I'm-okay-you're-okay, drivel that you see in a lot of children's books. There is no lesson about moral relativism. And, they are fun to read.

I am neither as kind as you nor as ladylike as you are gentlemanly. I was on a family vacation and all I could do was breathe a gigantic sigh of relief that there was one less creepster in the world to pose a threat to my precious nephews. Good riddance ot bad rubbish.
