This teaser trailer seems perfectly tuned for a theater audience who is, presumably, sitting in the dark. In this day and age however, most moviegoers watch trailers online and thus one has to ask if targeting a trailer solely at cinema audiences is wise.

Either way, I liked the trailer. It kind of reminded me of the teaser trailer for "Paranormal Activity 2"

I would have to agree with everyone here who has mentioned the issue of inflation when it comes to comparing the box office gross of "Star Wars" to "Transformers: ROTF". I would also point out that films are now released on a boatload more screens than they were in the days of "Star Wars" and "E.T." (though back in the late 70's early 80's films also played for a longer period of time).

I used Intense Debate on Celluloid Junkie (www.celluloidjunkie.com) at first. I'm a big fan of their front end interface and most of their functionality. There has been a huge argument going on over at Get Satisfaction regarding Intense Debate's not being integrated with Facebook Connect. This is indeed a huge oversight on their part and one which I am sure will be resolved (albeit not by Intense Debate), now that they have allowed the development of plug-ins by third-party developers.

I switched to Disqus for the Facebook Connect integration while waiting for Intense Debate to realize the error of their ways. I figured that if I were to ever switch back, I'd probably lose all threaded comments. Like you, I wasn't really sure of the value in threaded comments, but once you get a lot of people commenting, they are sooooo much easier to follow.

One thing is certain, Disqus has some excellent customer support. I'm sure it was Giannii or Daniel Ha that got in touch with you via Twitter as they are quite good about that.

The press release stated that the agreement was for the United States and Canada and it quoted Jim Tharp, President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution for Paramount Pictures. So, I believe it is for North American exhibitors. . . at least for now.
