My understanding is this started with a cigarette that the woman had while in her room and she fell asleep. The husband returned from the store which is 2 minutes away at most and was alerted by the people who were at the house pressure washing the roof. This was an unfortunate accident that happened and a husband lost his life partner. Komo has been very misleading and with little or no facts or information ran with a story.
The way this story is written is very misleading. This was an elderly couple and the husband was returning from the store. This was absolutely an accident.
Good idea...unfortunately the QFC is no longer open.
BP CEO Tony Hayward promised that the company would clean up every drop of oil and "restore the shoreline to its original state."
He "PROMISED" to restore it to it's original state.... tell that to the bird that is most likely not going to survive because it is covered in oil you idiot! How do you make good on your promise on that??
This guy just needs to learn to walk... It kills me that people like this man can screw up and probably step wrong on the edge of the step and slip and it is going to cost everyone else because he has no coordination. Metro needs to appeal.
As a parent who has purchased these for her girls. I can understand the points of both the school administration and the parents of the children. Unfortunately the cancer awareness part of the bracelets is secondary to why many students have purchased these. The slogan "I heart boobies - save a breast" which is what is on them was a catchy way to get the young population to spend their money on the bracelets.
The problem is maturity of the children....They can be disrupting when you have a bunch of students snickering because of what the bracelet says. This is not only a problem with Silverdale. There are a lot of Kent School District Schools that have banned them also handing out disciplinary action if they are worn for the same reason. I am sure that Susan G. Komen has made a lot of money off of these bracelets and I am sure there are a lot more schools out there in bigger cities that have already had to address this problem.
$4.2 Billion Dollars to replace the viaduct? In a recession. I would love to know how the goverment keeps pulling money out of their A$$e$.... With that said, After watching the video it seems to me that if and when this happens down town Seattle is going to be a mess. All the waterfront buildings are going to end up in the water.... Spring street will be in the water.... The older buildings that are in the area are coming down. There is way more to this video than just the dang viaduct. This to me is just more politics because of the elections and that is just sad and stupid!
fullthrottle...your posts are priceless. I love it.
Some interesting information : These are numbers from 2007-2008 school year.

It is easy to tell the teachers that they should strike and defy a court order when you have this kind of "change" in your pocket.
I do agree that these kids have access to way to much information in regards to the internet and also the television. My daughter at age 10 just completed the 5th grade and went through sex education. Why we give these children this much information at this age through our schools is a puzzle to me. She had no idea about any of it until she went through this health course. I also had sex education in school but it was in the 8th grade which was alot more appropriate in my opinion. We are giving these children too much information which is peaking their curiosity sooner than it should be. If they need to have the "talk" sooner than middle school it should come from the parents not from the teachers in our elementary schools!!
