All I need to realize is how much she scares the hell out of both political parties!

You are ever so correct in everything you’ve said and especially of Fast-Eddie and Specter.
Specter has always been tell-tale where as Fast-Eddie does things on the slight, not unlike Obama.
I have never been a fan of Specter but at least he was ignorant enough to let me see who he was and where he was going.
Eddie on the other hand, whom I pegged from the get-go, talks sweet and apparently won the audience he likes to play to; you know the ones that like to be told that everything is hunky-dory and the horizon is looking better than the one they had today even though he snickers as he undermines Pennsylvania worse than the miners had.
I realize the political game and how they can win their party with only three major areas in Pennsylvania but they better never rely on the results of the polls if they ever try to take our bibles or our guns …
You’ve heard about Pittsburgh fans?
I’ve always said there’s a difference between wearing sh*t and eating it!
You don’t move to you see the whites of their eyes!

I attempted to comment to the first subject point but found that I was unable to:
**The 912ers Stamp Peeve** Part IV TIME TO MAIL Mass Mail Begins- Monday, June 29th through Friday, July 3rd The Goal is 100 letters per person-...
How apropos that this should be a subject point after talking with my sister today who received a call from Philip Morris who patched her straight through to the State to comment her concerns (to a real person) over the continuing/discriminating taxation of a declining revenue, tobacco.
The conclusion that my sister and I came to was that if Philip Morris can do this why can’t our State Reps do this same type of action for us when an appending action is to be voted on?
Why can’t our State Reps patch us into, say the Governors hotline to reply? Why can’t we reply to a real person at the other end? American’s don’t have all day to research numbers, be put on hold, or leave a message at the sound of the beep!
State reps should be calling us! They should patch us through to the appropriate person(s)! There should be a real live person to talk with to listen to our opinion!

I would like everyone here to do something; reach into your Kleenex/Puffs/Generic box of tissues. Go ahead, feel inside to the right or left while tilting the box ever so slightly. Do you feel that you are missing about an inch of tissue?
Did you notice that your toilet paper roll got thicker but the sides became shorter?
Everyone has noticed their bag of potato chips so we won’t even go there.
This is simply to show the complacency and acceptance of the typical American.
Did you even realize when they took phone booths away or when bakery’s (not inside food chains) had become almost obsolete?
When did Nabisco crackers become a total Triscuit factory? When did potato chips become baked? Where are the great seasoning and salts and my personal favorite grease, who took them away and why?
Who came into these companies and demanded that we didn’t have a choice to eat what they declare to be unhealthy.
The news media, just last week, asked the oldest man living (108) how he lived so long. He said smoking, drinking and sex. I tend to agree!
I’ve now lived long enough to see that butter was not good for you; bacon was not good for you; beer was not good for you; and my all-time favorite…fish oil was not good for you. (Remember tuna used to be packed in fish oil)
Now we buy fish oil in pill form, butter is now good for you and bacon, beer is good in moderation.
These moderators/nutritionists that are attempting to protect us may just kill us if we listen to them.
Always be diligent in everything you buy and try to always pay in cash…it would drive them nuts…there’s no record. Ok well, there is a record if you use your shop n save card or your giant eagle card or your sams club card…This is how they know which items to up the price on!

Do you really think that these voters give a rat’s ass whose in office, whether it is the position of a Supreme Court Justice or the President, as long as it doesn’t directly affect them NOW.
Most people don’t recognize that they are already in the new age soup line. If you have a mortgage, you don’t own your house; if you have a car payment; you don’t own your car; if you neglect to pay your mortgage, your car payment, or your taxes, you will go to jail and I don’t mean the island paradise that the wiggers from Gitmo were sent to.
There is always a way to take down a system like the one we have now. Did you ever play Jenga? The foundation gets a little shaky when the top gets too heavy! Start at the Reps and the Senators; pull the pieces out and watch it collapse.

Not attempting to be cheeky but what we need is someone on the inside for information and that isn't very likely.

I live very near to Pittsburgh and have seen several of these ‘hoods’ bought up that are along prime waterfront properties. Since these were the old steel mill towns that became increasingly deserted and desecrated; Homestead and Braddock to name a few. Gang violence (or as one of the government officials around here like to call it; neighborhood issues) continues to be prevalent in these areas even though the destruction that was caused to property has been removed. To what avail does this costly endeavor endow?
What concerns me most is that the state wants to bulldoze Fort Pitt and Bushy Run Battlefield. Both are historic land sites. I’ve seen petitions on line to save Fort Pitt, which has more historic value than most of Pa. since all manner of trade to the south and west was ported out of Pittsburgh at the mouth of the Ohio at the Triangle of the rivers.
I’m not sure if there is a connection but it seems quite coincidental that bulldozing distraught neighborhoods coincides with national landmarks being threatened.

In the words of comedian/professor Tom Lehrer back in the 60’s:
One of the big news items of the past year concerned the fact that China, which we called "Red China," exploded a nuclear bomb, which we called a device. Then Indonesia announced that it was going to have one soon, and proliferation became the word of the day. Here's a song about that:
First we got the bomb, and that was good,
'Cause we love peace and motherhood.
Then Russia got the bomb, but that's okay,
'Cause the balance of power's maintained that way.
Who's next?
France got the bomb, but don't you grieve,
'Cause they're on our side (I believe).
China got the bomb, but have no fears,
They can't wipe us out for at least five years.
Who's next?
Then Indonesia claimed that they
Were gonna get one any day.
South Africa wants two, that's right:
One for the black and one for the white.
Who's next?
Egypt's gonna get one too,
Just to use on you know who.
So Israel's getting tense.
Wants one in self defense.
"The Lord's our shepherd," says the psalm,
But just in case, we better get a bomb.
Who's next?
Luxembourg is next to go,
And (who knows?) maybe Monaco.
We'll try to stay serene and calm
When Alabama gets the bomb.
Who's next?
Who's next?
Who's next?
Who's next?

The polls that are taken are about as accurate as main stream media! I never have believed in either one.
Get out and talk at the grocery store while you’re waiting in that long line, with the slowest cashier on earth (on purpose) that is filled with last-minute-grab-me-items to buy; you will find a totally different perspective than what is being portrayed by the media and the polls.
The one woman I met, at Barnes and Noble, almost whispered (before the election) that she was a conservative. I connected this type of apprehensive emotion immediately with the way a smoker is treated; go hide next to the dumpsters in the parking lot.
We are all being carefully and politically correctly taught! It is however great to be growing older because you can pretty much say whatever the hell you want to because of your age…use it!

smoking must not be a big deal even on this forum since it was removed as soon as I submitted this:
I had written about this very subject on another forum years ago when smoking was first being attacked with extremely large taxes. This action against cigarette purchasing individuals is merely a president to be set and used in the future to back-tax many citizens for many purchases (online more so, since the taxation of cigarettes was introduced causing many to seek more affordable means).
Let me explain back-tax. In Pennsylvania, Rendell dredged up a very old law that allowed him to back-tax people who bought cigarettes on-line over the borders of the state. This law actually states that anyone who sells taxable items to a Pa. resident is required to do so monthly.
Here is the problem; Two Years after the state had been informed of the purchases, I am responsible for taxes (with penalties) for several reported internet purchases.
I could of course appeal to higher courts on my behalf, or pay back-taxes with penalties (that I was told did not have a ceiling on the percentage that they could accrue to these purchases…in other words if you lose the court battle you could pay 1000% interest or more).
My husband and I initially confronted this matter with the primary appeal in Harrisburg. The representative we met with stated that although the law expects the deliverer of such goods to comply with the law on a monthly basis, the state found, in receiving these compliance notices from the retailer, that there were just too many being received to be processed appropriately and needed more time to notify me of these illegal purchases. In fact, it was two years for the state to notify me allowing me to continue to make purchases I was unaware were taxable product according to the state.
I sat in dismay at the words tumbling out of this man’s mouth and said “so they are looking for bigger fish to fry, they want the internet”. This is the only time I got a real response from this computerized suit…
I realized when I left that office that this matter was just a president to obtain bigger and more valuable rights of U.S. citizens.
Personally I would have been a martyr for the cause but the purchase was in my husband’s name and he does have an employer who might frown on possible jail time for non-compliance of paying the fines, fees and all other illegal (constituently) obligations to our so-called private spending practices.
‘They’ are coming after the internet, so enjoy your semi-free voice (Comcast etc.) while you still have it!
