On a slightly less off-topic note, keeping the family relationship vague is the only decision. Making it clear will only cause chaos.

The comics are a good way to get additional pony fix and make the hiatus go by quicker (even if they contradict canon, pony is pony), and as long as people are buying Hasbro's merchandise, both MLP and EQG will continue to thrive.
The show's not going to die and it's never going away no matter how well EQG does, so calm down.

It's always been, and the show isn't pure in any sense of the word.
Besides, they've already put Flash Sentry on the show at least twice.
Is the show ruined forever? Is the world coming to an end? No, so relax. You have the choice to not watch and ignore EQG, like you have always had.
