Looks terrible and formulaic. I mean, honestly, the show has good writers - so let them do something positive with this. Instead of just producing literally the most bland HS "sport drama movie" possible.

Frickin' bandwagon jumpers.

I remember when we waited for Pensivepine to upload the new episode. I remember circlejerking in Mr_Yaridovich's synchtube. I remember back when Sethisto was Twilight's and then Trixie's Horadric Cube. I even remember the exact thread when Eurobeat Brony uploaded his first mix, Evil Enchantress, on Bandpuff's account.

All those moments gone, like tears in the rain.

And frankly, I liked it more back then. The fandom was small, quaint, and the stuff that was made was top-notch. Now? The whole fandom is a lot more cringe-y, and too big. Which is why I still watch the show, but take steps to dissociate myself from the rest of the fans.

I would kill for an "oldfag only" community of some kind.

Meh. I was fine with Alicorn Twilight from the get-go. What I do dislike is EqG for reasons I have outlined numerous times.

What I do dislike about Alicorn Twilight is if they think EqG will justify her growing into her role as a leader. Organizing a dance vs. being in charge of a kingdom? Two wildly different things.

It's not so much cynicism as it is realism. I've seen this in multiple fandoms. Some relative big-name fan does steps 1-4 to stroke his/her ego. It's just a shame that we, as a fandom, are falling to it.

Oh look. I was right:
1 - dramatically say that MUH FANDOM isn't what it used to be
2 - leave with a flounce, accusing everybody else for something vague like "losing the spirit of friendship"
3 - monitor the situation, getting feelies every time someone says "Boo, we will miss you"
4 - Figure 2 weeks is enough to come back, and everybody starts kissing up to you "because you are back."

Let me ask you, are you familiar with the term "internet attention whore?" Is there anybody who didn't see this coming from a mile away?

Good.

No, really. If you let the fandom drama get to you, you are doing it wrong. It means that at some point, you did some mental calculations and realized that the fandom means more to you than the actual thing we are fans of. I’ve seen in this in Star Wars, and the Wheel of Time fandoms. You stop caring about the show/book, and start being a bitch because someone snubbed you at a con; or people are disagreeing with your opinion, etc.

Basically, these people’s fandom-fame got to their head, and they think they’re somehow special and unique, and "above" the fandom. No, you’re not. The fact that Calpain chose an internet persona, and actively participated in the fandom, and spoke his opinion, and got into arguments? Those actually make things worse.

I do hope ALL the drama queens quit the fandom.

Mmm. Yes and no. I can do things to cells. I can do things to lab rats. I wouldn't be able to do it to a single person. Or a single sentient. Because you don't have the shield of "statistics" to protect you. I'm currently working on a collagen gene correction, hopefully to fix EDS. I don't mind figuring it out, and selling it to a pharma corp. But if I personally had to do it, and stick a person that I know with it, my hands would fail to move.

Now imagine a similar logic, but applied to a brand new species that you created with your own hands.
