Possible.
However, Jasper gas a warrior spirit that sees battle as a means of personal growth, not just a means to an end. In her first appearance she talks about how much she respects Rose and how much she was looking forward to fighting Rose. The very fact that Garnet defeated her might make her MORE determined to take down the Crystal Gems and Garnet in particular. Garnet has become the new benchmark by which Jasper measures herself. To forgo battling Garnet would mean accepting an eternity of being second - rate.

I don't think that Jasper is particularly power hungry. She is loyal to the home world, brutal, and loves a challenging battle. Look up the Blood Knight on TV tropes. I think at trope describes Jasper well.

The only other diamond we know anything about is Blue. Seen only in a flashback. We don't know if she cares about earth at all. Even Yellow saw Earth as merely an incubator for her Cluster, one issue among many that she deals with, until Peridot opened her big mouth and made it personal.

Yeah, I can see how people would want to see the main cast to expand in order to showcase all the ways to be female. I'm more concerned with the paucity of villains on the show Jasper's move to the hero team would mean. We can't let Yellow Diamond shoulder the villain role all by herself.

That header image got me thinking. In light of how she was moving human clothing before; wouldn't it be wild if Peridot later really got into clothing as a means of self-expression and wound up as the fashion plate of the group?
