I've been saying this for ages. Remakes always bring the original film back into focus, and I can't imagine that fans of The Day The Earth Stood Still are too upset with the remake, considering the super-snazzy Blu Ray special edition release that it brought about. I was thrilled to death with The Stepfather remake, because I correctly surmised that it would result in a special edition DVD release.
