Why is there no sound? I'd be more apt to believe the headline if the video had sound.

Almost every base in Afghanistan faces rocket and mortar attacks... therefore, almost all forces are subjected to hostile fire.

According to the Army Times, in order to receive combat pay you must be: "On duty in an area in which he was in imminent danger of being exposed to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines and in which, during the period he was on duty in that area, other members of the uniformed services were subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;"

My husband returned from Afghanistan in January. His base was attacked twice by rockets. I don't think this would have changed his pay.

Ron Paul should not have invited him on stage unless he changed out of his uniform... not something a potential Commander in Chief should do.

Mexicans are our neighbors. If I were from Mexico and feared my son would be recruited by the cartel- I would flee to the closest refuge I could find. The "facts" can't change that for me.

"If I were living in Mexico I would do everything in my power to get myself and my wife across the border to America, and that would include breaking immigration laws. There’s no way I could live with myself if I didn’t do everything a husband should to get his wife out of the poverty, corruption and hopelessness that represents too much of Latin America. Knowing this about myself makes it hard for me to condemn others who actually are in that situation and have decided to do the same."

This is the exact thought that changed my view on illegal immigrants. I view many of them as refugees of Mexican drug wars. It is not my place to judge them. Would we condemn a Jew who illegal fled Germany during WWII? Would we condemn a Egyptian Christian or Iranian Christian who illegally fled to another country to escape? Would you wait until the paperwork went through- if your child had been approached by drug runners?
