Had Powell determined who he would endorse and vote for based on record and ideology, he wouldn't be surprised at the direction Obama is taking the country . Instead Powell voted based on race. A persons ideology does not shift overnight from calling himself Republican to voting for the most liberal Democratric candidate possible.

Don't think so. Powell lost the respect of a lot of people by endorsing Obama.

Obama really needs to be careful how he goes about talking with Putin. If he displays the same type of attitude towards Putin that he did towards Netanyahu, we will have need to worry about Russia.

This is how I see it:

Obama, after having money to close GITMO voted down because of lack of a plan, was expected to make a speech outlining his plan. No plan was outlined. Instead he bashed the previous administration and talked about the difficulty of what to do with the prisoners.

Cheney, was expected to defend his policies and positions. He did just that. If the Obama administration is going to continue to blame the Bush administration everytime he confronts a difficult task, he should expect to be called on it.

I think it is a good idea. I can only speak for myself but I feel it is important to pay attention to everything possible. This administration is moving extremely fast and the Supreme Court Justices are the ones responsible for interpreting law. It is important that there be a way for them to be watched now more than ever before.

The Japanese form of water torture was not the same as waterboarding. The Japanese form was water ingestion where water is forced down the persons throat in amounts beyond the amount capable of their stomachs to hold. After the water was ingested, the Japanese would put weight on the stomach or even jump on their stomach.

I'm a bit confused here. There has been the www.the912project.us up for a while which has state and local organizers listed. So which do we consider the national site? We can't splinter off into seperate groups. The national 912 and the 912.us should get together on this. Then post something so we all know where to go.

There is somethin similar to this already set up. It's called project vote smart. Now I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb, but it very well may be what you are looking for.

YOU'VE GOT IT! This is EXACTLY the way to go. I believe we can do this with the republican party. What we stand for is what they originally stood for until they lost their way. I believe it will be faster and easier to take over the Republican party than to start a new one or build another 3rd party up to a competitive level. And frankly, at the pace these dingbats in office are moving now, we don't have much time.
