I recognize that it may only be the smallest elephant in the room, but why is not more being done to reverse the unscrupilous practices of credit card companies? Most Americans are not upside down in their mortgages, or even have a mortgage for that matter, but I doubt there is a family that has not had one of it members impacted by high credit card rates and preditory fee assesments. These cards were , at one time, issued by local banks at rates less than 10% and were modestly assesed for late fees. Now they are all based in the only two states in the country that will allow interest rates that are considered to be "usery" and the realm of loan sharks in the other states.
