I am not suggesting that big pharma bribe directly to get the decisions they want. But I am quite clear that their financial contributions at all decision making levels create an atmosphere where it can be very difficult not to go along with what they are known to want.
Justice must not only be done but be seen to be done and that requires full and complete declarations of interest for a start. What's wrong with that? Have we had them - no we haven't. This would not only protect the public to some extent but the advisers and others involved. Let us not forget that thousands of lives have been and are at stake.

As you should know, with a drug in safe use for over sixty odd years there is no need for random trials, blind or otherwise and the use of placebos are arguably unethical. They take too long and are not neccessarily useful as witness the Recovery trial fiasco by Oxford University.
Most drugs used to cure infectious diseases have not been subject to random trials. During the war the first antibiotic M&B was introduced without any trials at all fortunately for tens of thousands of servicemen and civilian casualties.
There are over one hundred trials that show HCQ+A is effective. See: -- https://hcqmeta.com/

The most dramatic demonstration of HCQ +A's effectiveness has been in the old peoples homes of Marseille. Some used it some didn't with a huge differences in the mortality rates of two entirely comparable groups.

Secondly what possible objection could there be to a strict rule requiring full declarations of interest where appropriate - except of course from recipients of drug company funds?

All persons who have or have had any benefit direct or indirect from any pharmaceutical company should be compelled by law to declare their interest before taking part in any discusion or decision on medical matters. This includes not just doctors, politicians and civil servants but media and journalists. Political parties must be made to make absolutely clear any links with the pharmaceutical industry. Only then will we have a chance of better decision making.

A very large number of studies worldwide now show that the treatment greatly reduces mortality and the length and severity of the illness provided it is taken early.
HCQ is the second most used medicine in the world over the last 60 years with no serious side effects. It is a scandalous lie that it is any meaningful way dangerous put about by the pharmaceutical industry and their allies in the medical profession and the media.
The government's failure to encourage this treatment is a disaster for patients and has cost many lives.
