It has been a LOOOONG time since I read a blog, or posted a comment, or... anything. But I saw this on Facebook and decided, why not.

First of all, I haven't written on my blog in over a year. I even have an auto-reply set up on my account saying "You obviously haven't looked at my blog, so thanks for the e-mail, but take 30 seconds to go read it." I still get over 100 e-mails a day. A DAY! And I was never as popular as you Dude!

Would it make you feel better if I told you that distributors are 100x worse than the worst PR person? I saw all of the crappy things PR people do, I will even admit to being forced to do some of them. But it is NOTHING compared to the ridiculous nature of the trade.

But I would say that the same way I give more of my attention to those distributors that have a good relationship with me, you give more of your time to read what a good PR person has sent you.

Wow Peter! The "absynthe"? Can you send me a photo?

I am not sure if it would still be good, but if it was an Absinthe, the alcohol content should have kept it preserved. There is a lot more I would need to read before I could give you a more definitive thought. Well done in preserving what used to be a staple.

Hi Roger - You are absolutely right. Thank you for the correction and the polite way you phrased it.

Sure, but at the end of the day, no one cares if the nose is medium or medium plus intensity. They care if it is enjoyable. Why is that not part of the analysis?

What do you mean by sanction? I know for a fact that wines like Barefoot Zin are used in the MW test. I had a friend who was given the Yellow Tail Riesling.

There is SOOO much Pinot coming out of Oregon that is extremely high quality. I am just thankful that I am in a position to taste so much of it!

Thanks! Don't remember ever having La Dolce VIta, but I'm sure their sales rep will drop by the store eventually.

You close enough to Deleware to take a car ride? No taxes and fewer wine laws.

Is education a necessity for snobbery? I've had any snobbery shoved in my face so many times, that I look forward to the next time I taste a boxed wine that someone else recommends...
